Welcome to Wetime Journal.
Hello, and welcome to Wetime Journal.
My name is Ko, and I am a Japanese national currently living in South Korea.
Living as a “foreigner” in Korea while having a deep background in Japanese culture (including 30+ years in the Kamakura area) gives me a unique perspective.
I don’t just share tourist spots; I curate niche, local topics that truly add value to your journey.
My goal is to provide relatable insights that help you navigate East Asia with a deeper understanding, making your travel experience more authentic and soul-nourishing.
What is Wetime Journal?
Wetime Journal is a personal blog where I write about:
- Travel experiences in Japan, Korea, and other countries
- Cultural observations and everyday life
- Quiet moments, reflections, and lessons learned through writing
This site is not a news outlet or a corporate media platform.
It is a relaxed, personal space—more like a daily conversation than a guidebook.
Why I write
This blog is a way for me to receive the events of everyday life in my own way,
to reflect on them, organize them, and quietly send them back into the world.
People receive words with their hearts.
Words written with care can help tired or diminished hearts regain their strength.
I write with the hope of weaving such words.
If this space helps you remember the light your heart has always carried,
and if that quiet light, reflected in the people around you, gently brightens your world,
then this writing has found its meaning.
For readers
Wetime Journal is for readers who enjoy:
- A quiet longing for travel, and stories drawn from lived experiences
- Cultural understanding beyond guidebooks, including personal interests and everyday observations
- Reflective essays with a lingering sense, and the sharing of small, daily insights
